Joyous day!

Some plants are harder to gain than others.
Just like in everything else, also plants come and go out of fashion.
Some beauties are not available in stores anymore, so I will have to think of alternative methods of having rarities in my collection.
Thankfully sometimes at work I bump in to these rarities that I just got to have in my collection.
So here are two little babies i stole adopted from work.
Spathiphyllum 'Mauna Loa', commonly known as Peace flag. This gorgeus specimen is taller than i am (somewhat 160cm)
This plant enjoys being in partial or total shade and can grow very old (this one being over 20 years old)
It also has great reproduction method;
it produces plenty of root sprouts, so its very easy just dig up one of the offshoots ("babies"), cut it off the mother plant and plant it in to its own container. These sprouts usually have already roots of their own so propaganation is very simple and easy. Just remember to use low-nutrinent potting soil, since the baby roots arent necessarily capable of handling high amounts of fertilisazion just yet after being ripped off from their mother plant.

So here are the two shoots i dug up about a month ago, they used to be the same size but now the other (upper one in this pic) has grown obvioudly bigger than its sister. The smaller one seems to have had too much of a shock when moving away from the mother plant I'm afraid it'll just rot away sooner or later.
Closer inspection of the bigger plant showed me that the moving was a success!
Tiny little shoot is sprouting from between the axis.
New growth is a sign that the plant is happily rooted to its new home and the fertilisazion can begin!
