Clay pots/plastic pots

Do you have a new plant?
Dont know how to water your new plant?
Afraid of overwatering your plant?

Boy, do i have an easy protip for you;
CLAY POTS!

It might seem just a matter of what looks good in your eye when it comes to pots but really its all about the plant's roots. Overwatering is much more damaging to plant than underwatering.
When you overwater plant, it's roots suffocate as they need air too.
Clay pots have this natural "breathing" process that allows humidity to travel through the pot.

Simply enough, it means that the soil will dry up faster as it gives away the humidity through the pot.

This is actually exactly what you want, since slight drying between waterings is crucial in order to keep your plants alive and well.
I'm not telling you to throw away all your plastic pots since theyre good doing the exact opposite;
If you have a plant that needs that extra humidity, plant it in a plastic pot to prevent soil drying.

WARNING
black plastic heats up in the sun and might damage your plant's roots.

(Although, using black plastic pots that heat up in the sun while trying to grow up seedlings might be an effective way of getting the soil wee bit warmer which is usually one of the major factors in getting seeds grow)
